    Great album that you can usually find cheap. I thi Great album that you can usually find cheap. I think I picked this up at a record fair right before lockdown for $3 in Ex playing condition. Great 70’s funk, rock and jazz vibe with stellar players and interesting arrangements. Gil was supposed to work with Jimi and then Jimi passed. The Gil Evans Orchestra Plays The Music Of Jimi Hendrix - RCA CPL1-0667 Stereo 1974 *Dynaflex. *Although it is a dreaded “Dynaflex”’pressing, it sounds and plays great. Plenty of bottom end, nice highs and mids and it’s a good mix. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick a Dynaflex copy if it’s great shape and cheap enough. Crosstown Traffic (from this album) was sampled for the big 90’s hit “Groove Is In The Heart” from Deee-Lite.

Dagger Records releases are glorified bootlegs, but they are never going to be mixed or sounding better. I highly recommend the studio jams LP's like this one and "Hear My Music". Jimmy Rodgers - Chicago Bound 1983 P-Vine Special PLP-813 LP import from Japan. High quality masters! Still have the OBI and lyric insert inside the album jacket.

Maybe Tim Buckley comes to mind? I thought this would be an album that Al Gorgoni might have played on, and I was right. *Don’t get excited about the Jessie (Ed) Davis $2 find. I couldn’t believe it either, but a Dionne Warwick record was inside. The owner asked if I wanted it on the house, and I said “keep the record and I’ll put the album cover on my wall”. We own the newly released Real Gone Music reissue of Jessie Davis that is fantastic.

It’s all about timing. The Revolver 2022 Stereo Remix sounds fantastic on vinyl. It’s a punchier, wider (stereo) version of the original mono mix. Highly recommended! And Dr John is just the s**t!
